A Red, Pink and Gold
Tablescape
I just love the color red. When we bought our house, the first thing I thought was I wanted a red dining room. The living rooms downstairs are very open and flow right from one to another. So, I gathered quite a selection of red paint chips and used sticky tack to place them on the wall - as the days would go by, I would take the ones down which didn’t appeal to me.
Finally, I settled on this shade of red, Southern Beauty Red from Lowes.
I don’t know if they still have this particular shade – named as such – but, I have kept the paint chip for further reference.
The coordinating colors work well with the color of the walls in the family room, Gold Coin (Waverly for Lowes).
When I was looking for window treatments
I found this golden fabric with bees!
Love at first sight!
The store’s assistants helped me with the coordinating fabric for the valance. And Voila’!
I had a small remnant of the valance fabric, so I made this simple runner.
My children purchased this lovely tablecloth for me , so the two combined inspired this tablescape.

Place setting:
Mary Kay gold-rimmed pink and white dinner plates
Homer Laughlin floral plate
Mary Kay gold-rimmed salad plate
Gold-rimmed wine glasses
Mary Kay teacup and saucer
Lenox silverplate silverware
Gold toned napkin
The centerpiece was found at an antique store
The sparkly apples were Christmas decorations
Small gold-toned picture frames as candleholders

This setting could easily work at Christmastime. But, for me, red works all year round.
