For
a
Friend's
Visit

It is a wonderful thing to anticipate the arrival
of a friend for a few days. While I was cleaning our guest room
I decided to do a project I had been wanting to do for a
very long time.
The green guest room was once a screened porch.
It was enclosed several years back and is now used
as a guest room - or a room to retreat to.
It is long and narrow - which gives it a sort of
coziness.

For the time being, there's a twin bed there, which
was my son's bed. I had been wanting to paint it white
and to embellish it. I was inspired by the lovely pillow
and sachet I recently acquired from Char's

These gave me my inspiration for a room make-over
and for a new look for the bed.
I chose some graphics from
and
hand-painted the rest.

I have been wanting to do the
bundles of bindless books  that I have seen several of you do
so well.

These books were similar and were already losing their
binding - what a brilliant idea to bind them
and to use them as a decorative item.

I have now a French-Red Rose theme.
I hung the sachet near the head of the bed. The tranquil
fragrance of the Lavender will be soothing to my guest.

I have a few more changes to make,
sew some curtains - these have been on the way
I am still working on the small rocker that is peeping
from the right. I plan to paint the shelf unit behind the couch too.

I grouped a few baskets atop the wardrobe that
needs some updating as well. The painting above
I did a while back.

out for a long time -
but, until then - I am pleased with the look.
Thank you for stopping by!
